Re: B20 2130cc
Here is some progress on the head; it looks really nice. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-FcU9Qm4qjmU/UTa092Fg0yI/AAAAAAAABgY/l19LIWtf9E0/s855/D03282E4-9C2C-4AF3-A309-9BCE01DC60B2.JPG https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-xsCelyGJpOM/UTa09-F2lwI/AAAAAAAABgY/XdOmt0wvL1Y/s855/8E668EDE-1D58-45E4-97CE-A5...

Re: B20 2130cc
Progress is coming along. I sent out my head to be ported and upgraded to stainless steel high flow 44mm intake/ 38mm exhaust valves. I have also found another short-block to use. I am trading the owner a set of B20 Mahle +.030 pistons for the bottom end. Also, in news, I finally purchased the rare ...

Re: B20 2130cc
Torbo, I am actually thinking about staying with 89mm and not going to 92mm. I was thinking about a 6-bolt block, so that I could get the lighter and stronger rods. Also, original Volvo pistons are expensive and I can get custom forged ones for $535/set. That way I could use the 6-bolt rods and upgr...

Re: B20 2130cc
Well, so long with the 2130cc engine. I am going to need a new block, and I am not thinking about overboring, because it will prevent a rebuild in the future. I finished removing the rest of the pistons tonight, and here is what I found: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-_zY9l0a7NzI/UM_CfDoyosI/AAA...

Re: B20 2130cc
Torbo, thanks for all that information. I am going to read the websites later. Anyways, I couldn't find the woodruff keys listed on that website. Once you advanced the cam 4 degrees, where did it move the rpm to? Was max still around 6000rpm? As much as I like low and mid-range, it seems like I woul...

Re: B20 2130cc
As far as porting goes, each person has a different method. I am trying to get some more details. One person welds up the ports to increase air velocity and flow with stock size 44/35 valves, but he only does heads for complete motors. The other guy builds race heads with extensive porting and 46/38...

Re: B20 2130cc
Thank you Arne. I already have electronic igniton from the '75 B20. It uses an external Bosch unit. I was also going to upgrade the seals. I decided to get the head ported and I am going to use a Schneider (U.S) 274F cam.

B20 2130cc
I decided to swap out my B16 for a B20, and I picked up a used B20 bored to 92mm. I has the 8-bolt crank with standard rods and a B20F head that has mild intake porting. I am having trouble getting some answers in the U.S., so I thought I would ask on here. This is going to be a street engine only, ...

Re: Carpet sets for early Amazons available?
I thought the rear heat vent was available before -65, as a factory option. Mine looks almost custom made, but maybe it was an early prototype. The main problem with the carpet is with the gas pedal, which mounts lower on the floor, so it won't work. The seat brackets are in the correct position, bu...

Carpet sets for early Amazons available?
I just purchased a carpet set from VP Autoparts for my 1959 Amazon, and it doesn't fit at all. I have the later 1961 seats installed along with the rear heat vent, but the carpets wouldn't line up. Is there a supplier for the proper carpet set, or do I need to get one custom made?

Re: B 16 A/B camshaft
I know of one person that may be able to help you. Catharina Ellemann-Jakobsen <ellemannjakobsen@gmail.com> Emails are slow, but maybe try calling 0046 (0)31-441392. They custom grind B16 performance cams, and I was quoted 3000Skr for a cam. But they most likely have the right specifications.

Re: B 16 A/B camshaft
Here's the B16 B cam currently available: http://iskycams.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2649&cPath=15 I'm not a specialist with these, I'll contact someone familiar with mentioned measurements. Very confusing when thay talk same time about B 18/20 engines too. If the...

Re: B 16 A/B camshaft
CVI lists the B16B cam as 403737 http://www.cvi-automotive.se/en/articles/2.7479.42091/camshaft-b16b-replaces-b16a I currently have the B16A and yes it came with a red valve cover. The B16D engine was also red, however it used the same cam as the B16B but had a single carb. Does your engine have sin...

Re: B 16 A/B camshaft
Actually in my parts catalog it lists the 403736 cam as being a B16A cam.
The 403737 cam is a B16B cam.
Are you able to measure the lift and duration on this cam? I would like to know what it is.

Re: B16 Engine Stength
I can not answer your question regarding pricing but want to say that it looks like a nice car. Even though the head is the double price. And i wonder if it is an overdrive lamp above the fanswitch? Actually, the light is for a special option (which is kind of stupid in my opinion). There are speci...
