Rear Axel- vibration-noise

Post by wernie »

Hello,
I am Wernie from the Netherlands, and I have an B18 121 from 1964 since 4 years. On 9th july the
Car has been approved by the dutch APK (BILproving) and we are allowed to drive.

First problem that I have is with a speed of 60-70 km and then try to stop, the rear axel starts to make
a lot noise and vibration. all rubbers are changed and new, break force is ok acc test at provning, brickor on rear axel are new and welded. the car is from 1964 121 B18 with drumbreaks.
Breakpedal also goes up and down during breaking?

Can anyone advise?

Thx in advance, Grt wernie

Thx Jan,

Will check the drums, also bought new breakpads because I think that is the cause together with the drums?
Any suggestions are welcome.

Don´t forget checking the parkingbrake wires and their bolts on the backside of the drums. If a bolt is broken and have fallen into the drum, it can cause a lot of noise and vibrations.
